Hi my name is Jessica Normans and I've recently been on holiday to Barbados.  It was such an amazing trip and wanted to share with you where I stayed and why I stayed there.


I hope some people will find this information to be of use as I've heard of others not having such a good time in Barbados.

The Almond Beach Village in Barbados is a very luxurious resort which is ideal for any big event such as a wedding or honeymoon! It is however not cheap, but you pay for quality for anything in life and this is quality at its best.

When you first step inside the complex you’ll be overwhelmed with the scenery and luxury that surrounds you! What really gets your attention though is all the detail and personal touches that are presented to you. When you arrive you’ll get a scented towel and a nice cold refreshing drink (alcoholic is the mood takes you!)

Now for the accommodation, there are many types available going from standard all the way up to a presidential suite! Even if you go for a standard room you’ll still get a first floor room that is situated among the tropical gardens of the complex. So whatever you feel like choosing, you’ll be undoubtedly overwhelmed in luxury.

If you go for a Deluxe garden view room, you’ll be higher up in the complex with views of the gardens from above. There are a few other different types of deluxe rooms which are just different views. You can choose from either an ocean or a beachfront property.

Above the Deluxe rooms you have the Superior rooms, these are much larger rooms offering the same types of views however. They have sitting areas outside so you can enjoy the view much more while relaxing.

You’re then moving up to the suites which have separate bedroom and living areas. This is going on a whole new level of luxury, however the price can start increasing quite a lot at this point due to the demand of these. You will need to book in advance at most times of the year.

Then of course you have the most expensive suite, the Presidential one! It is ideal for 2 close sets of partners to share a suite because it has 2 bedroom areas, 2 bathroom areas. You also have then easy access to organise things with each other such as going to dinner, going to the spa etc. But definitely enough privacy when you want to just be with your partner.

Whichever type of room that you choose to book, you should be safe in the knowledge that you are going to be booking yourself into a quality establishment and that you have no worries about your holiday accommodation!

There are a lot of things you can do on-site as well, in the next section I’ll be talking about different excursions that are available plus other amenities which are on-site for you to use as much as you like to make your holiday as enjoyable as possible at the Almond Beach Village Barbados.

Now what kind of resort would be complete without having some on-site dining facilities. So far we’ve talked about all the wonderful types of rooms that are available, but if you’re spending some decent money on a holiday you’re going to want somewhere nice to eat as well! This is not a problem for the almond beach village Barbados. There are 5 restaurants to choose from each offering up a different type of dining experience.

The resorts main restaurant is called Horizons, a good name for somewhere which has views as amazing as this one. It is open for breakfast which is a buffet style and then again at lunch for another buffet menu or an a la carte menu! Then for dinner there is a continental cuisine a la carte menu which changes each day so you’ll never get bored of what to choose from! For those of you from Britain or perhaps those who just want to experience a bit of Britain, there is a “High Tea” served in the afternoons each day. You may be on holiday, but you might be missing hope just that little bit.

No one is going to get bored here with some of the activities that are available at Almond Beach Village Barbados! You have a choice from ten, that’s right, ten swimming pools and there are also two Jacuzzis to choose from! Perfect for those lazy days when you just want to sit around and go for a swim while you wash away those thoughts and problems that you’ve left behind.

For those who like a bit of golf, there is a nine hole golf course available, so don’t forget to bring your clubs with you. And for those who want to burn a bit more energy, you could always try the tennis courts which are open both during the day and a night when it’s a bit cooler for you.

You should also try and take advantage of the spa services which are available, they also include facilities for a manicure and the pampering treatment which you will probably find very relaxing! Massages, facials and much, much more! Who could possibly say no to that? You should note, these extra spa services cost separately and can either be paid in advance or at the time in the local currency. You might find it better to book before you go, it can be a little bit cheaper this way.

There are a lot of Excursions which you can take around the island itself and I would encourage anyone who goes to take advantage of these. They are not something which you can do everyday at home! Just to name a couple, you can go turtle feeding or how about for the more adventurous a 4x4 tour to see some sights you wouldn’t normally be able to get to? You may be slightly surprised about some of the things you see!
